    The final edition of this year’s DRIFTWOOD MUSIC LOUNGE will take place on Saturday, August 30, welcoming artist Miyuto Morita. Enjoy an exceptional beach time wrapped in good music and ocean breeze.

    Born October 31, 1995
    While expressing himself through music and dance as an artist, Miyuto Morita also engages in creative activities such as painting and photography, and has been featured as a visual model by numerous fashion brands. In November 2021, he launched “FLATLAND,” a project to give form to his own philosophy, marking the start of his full-scale solo career. In recent years, he has showcased a collection using his own photography for “Ground Y,” and created original artwork to commemorate the opening of a new New Balance store, demonstrating a rich and diverse creative presence.

    About Shuya Okino ( KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE / KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET )
    Shuya Okino is a music producer, DJ, selector, composer, author, radio personality, and owner of the iconic Tokyo club The Room.

    In 2000, Kyoto Jazz Massive’s release “ECLIPSE” topped the BBC Radio ZUBB chart for three consecutive weeks. As an internationally recognized artist, he has performed in over 140 cities across 40 countries.

    In 2006, he released his first solo album “United Legends”. In 2009, he received the Good Design Award for music direction at United Cinema Toyosu, designed by Intentionalies.

    In 2015, he launched the jazz project Kyoto Jazz Sextet, releasing the debut album “MISSION” through the legendary Blue Note label. In June 2017, they released their second album “UNITY” and performed at Fuji Rock Festival’s Field of Heaven stage. In July 2018, Okino performed at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival as a DJ.

    In 2021, Kyoto Jazz Massive released their long-awaited second album “Message From A New Dawn” after a 19-year hiatus. In 2022, they released their third album “SUCCESSION”, featuring jazz legend Takeo Moriyama, and returned to Fuji Rock Festival after five years.

    Since 2022, they have toured Europe under the name Kyoto Jazz Massive with Echoes Of A New Dawn Orchestra.

    In 2024, Kyoto Jazz Massive celebrates their 30th anniversary with the release of the EP “KJM EOANDO” in June, which reached No.1 on the iTunes Dance Album chart. The track “Impulsive Procession” also reached No.1 on the Traxsource Broken Beat/Nu-Jazz chart. A compilation album “KJM COVERS” is scheduled for release in December.

    In July 2025, Kyoto Jazz Sextet will release their new single “DOSOJIN NO UTA”.

    Okino is the author of several books, including “DJ Selection Techniques”, “Introduction to Club Jazz”, and his autobiography “Profession: DJ, 25 Years”. He currently hosts Tokyo Crossover Radio on InterFM (Fridays at 10:00 PM) and curates the program “Shuya Okino presents Music in The Room” on USEN’s I-12 channel.

    About Tomoyuki Tanaka (FPM):
    Tomoyuki Tanaka is a renowned music producer and selector who has made his mark both in Japan and abroad. Under the name FPM (Fantastic Plastic Machine), he has released eight original albums and produced tracks for numerous artists. His remix work spans over 100 songs, including collaborations with legends such as Tomoyasu Hotei, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, UNICORN, Sakanaction, Fatboy Slim, James Brown, and Earth, Wind & Fire.

    His music has featured in a wide range of media, from TV commercials to Hollywood films, overseas dramas, and theatrical productions. As a DJ, he has played at major festivals in Japan as well as globally, including the iconic Coachella Festival in the U.S.

    In addition to his DJ career, he has directed music and sound for commercial spaces and entertainment content. He served as music director for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies. Since 2022, he has been a visiting professor in the Music and Sound Design course at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

    From 2005 to 2018, “WAX” appeared every summer on the beaches of Niijima, Tokyo — a unique space where music, art, fashion, and surf culture intersected.
    Now, in the summer marking 20 years since its inception, a special one-night-only event “WAX(20)25” will be held to celebrate the completion of the documentary LAST DANCE, which captures its final season.
    The guest act will be “Captain Vinyl,” a project by DJ NORI and MURO, known for rocking dance floors all over Japan with their signature Back to Back style using only 7-inch vinyl records — spinning SOUL, DISCO, FUNK, and the freshest dance music.

    REJAY:
    A singer-songwriter from Niseko, Hokkaido. During her childhood, she was influenced by her Australian father and grew up listening to many different genres of music. She started writing her melodies and lyrics at the age of 13. With a video she uploaded on YouTube, her singing voice attracted the ears of JQ from Nulbarich. After she moved to Tokyo, she started her career under the production of JQ. She has a one-of-a-kind voice that combines the extremes of shadow and transparency.

    RiE MORRiS:
    At 18, she moved to Los Angeles alone, where she was deeply inspired by a variety of music during her four-year stay. In July 2021, she began releasing collaborative works under the name RiE MORRiS, teaming up with cutting-edge producers like Ryoma Takamura. Her music combines Neo-soul and New Wave elements with an expressive, organic vocal style. Her song “Still” featuring Wez Atlas became a breakout hit, appearing in numerous official Spotify playlists. Her first EP Inside Out was released digitally in October of the same year. She has been featured four times as a cover artist for Spotify’s curated playlists including Soul Music Japan and Women’s Voice. With UK producer edbl, she released the EP Here With You in 2022 (available on CD and vinyl), followed by In My Dreams in 2023. On Record Store Day 2023, she also dropped a 7-inch vinyl single, expanding her audience both domestically and internationally. Her global collaborations include works with Dutch artist Soulization, Japanese DJ duo Snowk, and Nenashi from Origami Productions. In addition to her music career, she is also a radio DJ—hosting Sunset Easy every Sunday evening at 7pm on Shonan Beach FM, with past appearances on FM Yokohama.

    Kyoka Ogawa:
    Kyoka Ogawa began her bartending career in earnest in 2018 at bar Amber in Nishi-Azabu. With a background in ballroom dancing and modeling, she’s known for playful, creative cocktails that showcase her personality. In 2019, she won the Chivas Masters Japan competition, representing Japan at the world finals. Since 2020, she has served as a brand ambassador for Silent Pool Gin, offering cocktail pairings and guest bartending experiences at various restaurants and bars across Japan.
    She currently bartends at VIRTÙ, the bar at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, while continuing her ambassador activities.

    A beach club produced by GREENROOM CO., the team behind the 20th anniversary of GREENROOM FESTIVAL, and THE HARBOR TERRACE, a popular hotel and restaurant in Kamakura, will open for this summer only at Zaimokuza Beach, Kamakura. Enjoy seaside-inspired cuisine, curated drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere filled with music. On weekends and special days, live performances and music events will also take place.
